The Jewish Federation Connecting with Community series presents "Questioning Return, a Reading with Novel set in Israel." Beth Kissileff is a writer of fiction and non-fiction on Israeli cultural, literary and religious topics. In her novel, protagonist Wendy Goldberg has it all planned out. She is going to live in Israel to research and write on newly religious American Jews who live there. Wendy planned to ask questions of others while she finds the ones that truly matter are those she asks herself.
Kissileff's work appears regularly in a variety of publications including the New York Times, Slate, Haaretz, The Forward, and The Jerusalem Post. She edited the anthology Reading Genesis,a collection of writing on Genesis by academics.
