Special Jewish Food Series Lunch Program with Local Chefs, Authors, Food Writers
In preparation for the High Holy Days, join chefs Elisa Spungen Bildner and Rob Bildner, authors of The Berkshires Farm Table Cookbook, for conversation over a home-cooked kosher lunch featuring some of their favorite recipes to Break-the-Fast on Yom Kippur (including quiche, rutabaga latkes, and blueberry crisp).
Telling the story of family-run agriculture through the language of food, The Berkshires Farm Table Cookbook offers 125 recipes to recall the magic of the Berkshire region. What makes this cookbook truly special is its celebration of the farmers, cheesemakers, chefs, and restaurant-owners behind the recipes, as much as the food itself.
Elisa Spungen Bildner is a former lawyer, journalist, and CEO of a perishable food manufacturing company, and is a professionally trained chef. Robert Bildner is a former lawyer who grew up in a food family and went on to found several companies that helped local farmers bring products to market. He photographed the farms and restaurants in this book. Elisa and Rob have lived in the Berkshires for 35 years.
All are welcome! Advance lunch reservations are required and can be made by calling (413) 442-2200 before 9 a.m. on the day of the program. Suggested donation of $3 for adults over age 60. $7 for all others.
