On Sunday, October 12, Ramblin’ With the Rav takes on one last hike for the season, the Father Loop at Alford Springs. This is a moderate hike, 4.3 miles long and 784 vertical feet of ascent, over 2-2.5 hours. Participants will celebrate Sukkot and autumn with a hike that abuts the Massachusetts-New York state line. The Alford Springs reserve includes reforested land - a different sort of landscape from many hikes in the Berkshires - and surprisingly good views all the way to Mt. Greylock. Leashed dogs are welcome. Hikers should be advised that the hard part comes at the end of this hike. Participants should register in advance at www.knessetisrael.org/rsvp. Plan to meet at KI at 10AM to carpool or at the trailhead around 10:45.
