The Jewish Federation Connecting with Community series presents "Race Matters: Why Not Speak and Live the Truth in Love" with Reverend Sheila D. Sholes-Ross, pastor of First Baptist Church of Pittsfield.
Reverend Sholes-Ross' congregation has grown into a multi-cultural and diverse congregation. Known for its diversity in the past, this is becoming even more evident with the church's growth. Reverend Sholes-Ross was the invited speaker for the Berkshire Human Rights speaker series with the focus as "Black Lives Matter."
As a continuation of that series, she will speak in December on "Hard Truths."
This free program is part of the Federation’s Connecting With Community Series and will be followed by a kosher hot lunch. Lunch is a $2 suggested donation for adults over 60 years of age or $7 for all others. Advance reservations are required for lunch and can be made by calling (413) 442-2200 before 9 a.m. on the day of the program.
