An evening of short plays by Jesse Waldinger, exploring struggles against oppression in American history. The staged readings, featuring professional actors, directed by Dr. Barbara Waldinger, dramatize George Washington's post-war attempt to retrieve his human "property", the divorce of Shakespearean actress Fanny Kemble, the fate of the slave who survived the Alamo, and the friendship between a prominent rabbi and the anti-Semite Henry Ford. Co-sponsored by Temple Anshe Amunim and Congregation Knesset Israel. Reception and talkback including Rabbi Josh Breindel, Rabbi David Weiner, Pastor Sheila Sholes-Ross, Dennis Powell and Gwendolyn VanSant follow the dramatizations.
Admission: $20
