Seeking Grant Proposals that Support Berkshire Teachers and Caregivers

The Berkshire B’nai Tzedek Youth Foundation is a teen leadership board made up of Jewish teens that develop annual charitable funding priorities and participate in a grant making process. B’nai Tzedek in Hebrew means “Sons/Daughters of Justice.” “Tzedakah” is the act of charitable giving to bring justice to our world. This program teaches local youth to pursue justice through community philanthropy.

The Jewish Federation of the Berkshires provides $3,000 from its annual campaign to fund grants based on the mission developed by the Foundation’s teen leaders. The program is run in partnership with Hevreh of Southern Berkshire.

2023 B’nai Tzedek Youth Foundation Mission Statement

We are the B’nai Tzedek Youth Philanthropy Board of 2023. We believe in the Jewish values of “Kibbud Morim” and “Kibbud Av Va-Em”, meaning to honor parents and teachers. The 2023 mission of the Berkshire B’nai Tzedek Youth Philanthropy Program is to honor caregivers by funding the organizations that support teachers and parents in our community.
