The Jewish Federation Connecting with Community program welcomes Michel Richard, PhD to explore what most of us today would agree with...Eve got a bum rap, but this story in Genesis raises some fascinating questions.

Richard will lead discussions, such as Why was the Tree of Knowledge off limits, but not the Tree of Life; What was the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge; what would have happened if Eve had not disobeyed G-d; Does this story depict G-d as an all-too-human father and did the bIble create misogyny or simply bring it to a new level?

Join us to explore some of these questions and find answers.  Suggested reading: Eve: The History of an Idea by J.A. Phillips.

This free program is part of the Federation’s Connecting With Community Series and will be followed by a kosher hot lunch. Lunch is a $2 suggested donation for adults over 60 years of age or $7 for all others. Advance reservations are required for lunch and can be made by calling (413) 442-2200 before 9 a.m. on the day of the program.
