Agriculture, food and climate are areas of focus and application for Adamah Farm at the Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center.

Join us as we look at what we eat, how it is grown and the affects it has on our ever changing climate. In addition, does the changing climate affect the food we grow? And what roles does agriculture play in addressing climate change by growing food in ways that keep carbon in the ground and build healthy soil. These questions, topics and more will be explored by Shamu Sadeh, Managing Director of Education at the Isabella Freedman and Adamah Farm and Mark Phillips, Berkshire Agricultural Ventures' Program Coordinator.

Shamu Fenyvesi Sadeh is the co-founder and former director of Adamah, and prior to that he worked as the Director of Teva, and now he leads our efforts to educate all Isabella Freedman guests. He teaches Judaism and ecology, turns the compost piles, maintains the orchards, and supervises and mentors staff and Adamah Fellows.

Mark Phillips has a diverse array of experience in food and agriculture.  Mark is passionate about regional agroforestry development as a vehicle for food security, farm viability, ecological restoration, and carbon sequestration. Mark is the Operations Director at Berkshire Agricultural Ventures.
