The Jewish Federation of the Berkshires Connecting with Community presents "Crane Paper Mills: The Inner Workings from the 19th century to Today" with Peter Hopkins, director of Crane Museum of Papermaking in Dalton.  Hopkins will discuss the Crane paper mills and its historic impact on this region.

For those living in the Berkshires, the Crane family and its seven-generation paper business are well-known.  Founded by Zenas Crane alongside the Housatonic River, the company and the family that owns and manages it have been integral to the history, health and well-being of the Berkshires for more than two centuries.

Peter Hopkins has been associated with the company for almost 30 years.  He is keeper of the family archives, and is more than happy to share what you may not know about this company whose products are cherished around the world.

This free program is part of the Federation’s Connecting With Community Series and will be followed by a kosher hot lunch. Lunch is a $2 suggested donation for adults over 60 years of age or $7 for all others. Advance reservations are required for lunch and can be made by calling (413) 442-2200 before 9 a.m. on the day of the program.
