The Jewish Federation Connecting with Community program welcomes Rabbi Seth Wax, Jewish chaplain at Williams College.

Descriptions of the mystic's journey often discuss how one becomes absorbed within the divine.  But how do we train ourselves to have that experience and what does it feel like?

In this program, we will explore teachings of Schneur Zalman of Liadi, the founder of the Chabad school of Hasidism, who points the way through the deepest of emotions, love.

Rabbi Seth grew up in the Boston area and has been on a search that has brought him through synagogues and Buddhist monasteries to divinity school and rabbinical school before coming to Williams College in the summer of 2017. He has a special interest in exploring how to live a meaningful, engaged life that is infused with learning, contemplation, community, and deep interfaith engagement. Before coming to Williams, he was the rabbi at Congregation Mount Sinai in Brooklyn Heights, NY.

This free program is part of the Federation’s Connecting With Community Series and will be followed by a kosher hot lunch. Lunch is a $2 suggested donation for adults over 60 years of age or $7 for all others. Advance reservations are required for lunch and can be made by calling (413) 442-2200 before 9 a.m. on the day of the program.
