The Helen & Irving Sunshine Memorial Concert
Alicia Svigals, the world's greatest klezmer violinist, and accordion wizard Lauren Brody, a major figure in the original klezmer revival, join forces in an electrifying concert of traditional Yiddish folk songs and klezmer tunes. Alicia and Lauren - cofounders of the all-women Yiddish music ensemble Mikveh - have a deep, rich history of performing together and draw upon an equally deep repertoire of Eastern European-derived melodies delivered in poignant, contemporary fashion.
This event is part of Yidstock 2017: The Festival of New Yiddish Music.
YIDSTOCK 2017 is sponsored by WAMC Northeast Public Radio and The Marinus and Minna B. Koster Foundation.
