The Jewish Federation Connecting with Community presents "Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia" with Meghan Lemay, Regional Manager of the Alzheimer's Association in Western MA.  Meghan will provide the opportunity to learn about the impact of Alzheimer's, the difference between Alzheimer's and dementia, the stages and risk factors of Alzheimer's, current research and treatments, and Alzheimer's Association resources.

The Alzheimer's Association works to provide care and support for all those affected as well as to reduce risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.  They run a 24/7 helpline to answer a quick question or provide
in-depth consultation, emotional support, educational information, or resource and referral.  The 24/7 helpline is : 800-272-3900

This free program is part of the Federation’s Connecting With Community Series and will be followed by a kosher hot lunch. Lunch is a $2 suggested donation for adults over 60 years of age or $7 for all others. Advance reservations are required for lunch and can be made by calling (413) 442-2200 before 9 a.m. on the day of the program.
