The Jewish Federation of the Berkshires presents "The Kabbalistic Understanding of Tu B'Shevat" with Rabba Kaya Stern-Kaufman. Open to the public at $3, the program is held at Congregation Knesset Israel, 16 Colt Road, Pittsfield. Stern-Kaufman noted that through the study of Kabbalistic texts related to trees, the mystical underpinnings of the celebration of Tu B'Shevat may be discovered and an understanding of the recent revival of the Tu B'Shevat seder can be attained. Stern-Kaufman, MSW, is the founder and Executive Director of RIMON: Resource Center for Jewish Spirituality in Great Barrington. She is also one of the founders and service leaders of The Berkshire Minyan - a thriving traditional-egalitarian minyan that meets weekly on Shabbat and holidays.
