The name Israel means “one who struggles with God.” As the People of Israel, we are God-wrestlers, trying to figure out what our relationship to God might be. Over the generations, Jewish thinkers have offered views on which we can lean, build out, or continue to wrestle with. These systematic theologies give us a framework for how we can talk about God. In this lunch ‘n learn series, we’ll be learning about the approaches of five different Jewish thinkers. Come learn what Heschel, Buber, and Kaplan — among others — had to say about God.
