The Jewish Federation of the Berkshires will present Knosh & Knowledge with author Letty Cottin Pogrebin who will give a talk titled “What Do We Mean By Jewish Continuity? And Must Intermarriage Necessarily Be a Threat to Jewish Survival?”, in which she will consider the impact of intermarriage on the survival of the Jewish people and Jewish heritage. She’ll also be talking about Single Jewish Male Seeking Soul Mate, her new novel about a son of Holocaust survivors looking for love and Jewish identity in 1970s and 1980s New York City.

Pogrebin, who has a house in the Berkshires, will discuss the novel and her own Jewish journey. In Single Jewish Male Seeking Soul Mate, Letty Cottin Pogrebin encapsulates a dilemma commonly shared by children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors – how to feel “normal” despite the oppressive weight of history carried by people they love and need love from
