Daniel Kahn and Sarah Mina Gordon present an acoustic set of original and traditional Yiddish songs and ballads. These two old friends join voices, drawing from the deep traditions of the Jewish workers movement, modernist Yiddish poetry, and the contemporary folk scenes in which they were raised. Born in Michigan, Daniel is a renowned Berlin-based singer-songwriter, translator, and theater artist who tours the world with The Painted Bird, The Brothers Nazaroff, Semer Ensemble, The Unternationale, and numerous other projects. Sarah, a fourth-generation Yiddish singer and daughter of the legendary Adrienne Cooper, fronted the rock band Yiddish Princess and has recorded and performed her original lyrics with such bands as Frank Londons Klezmer Brass Allstars and the Klezmatics. Often separated by time zones and the wide Atlantic Ocean, these compatriots are delighted to reunite for this rare duo concert.
