The Jewish Federation Connecting with Community program presents "Becoming Involved with State Government" with Representative Tricia Farley-Bouvier, MA State Representative (D-Pittsfield).

Rep Farley-Bouvier will guide us through "What's up with government? Does it make a difference in my life?  How can I make my voice heard and change the conversation?"  She will use concrete examples and walk through ways that you can (and must!) make an impact.

Currently, she serves as House Vice-chair on the Joint Committee on Labor and Workforce Development, a member of the House Committee on Ways and Means, a member of the Joint Committee on Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities, and a member of the House Committee on Technology and Intergovernmental Affairs.

Tricia Farley-Bouvier was elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in a special election on October 18, 2011, and began serving as Pittsfield's State Representative a short three weeks later. As of January 2013, the 3rd Berkshire District includes all of Pittsfield except Ward 1B, which borders Lanesborough and Dalton.

Tricia was born and raised in Pittsfield. She attended Pittsfield High School and went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Special and Elementary Education from Salve Regina University and her Master's Degree in Education from the University of Connecticut.

This free program is part of the Federation’s Connecting With Community Series and will be followed by a kosher hot lunch. Lunch is a $2 suggested donation for adults over 60 years of age or $7 for all others. Advance reservations are required for lunch and can be made by calling (413) 442-2200 before 9 a.m. on the day of the program.
