The Jewish Federation Connecting with Community presents "A Look at The Balfour Declaration: 100 Years Ago November 2, 1917."
Join Hugh Black as he discusses the historical significance of the letter that the United Kingdom's Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour sent to Lord Walter Rothschild, declaring support of the "national home for the Jewish people"...the Jewish State of Palestine.
Hugh Black will run an ongoing series of book talks and historical event programs. In this presentation, Hugh will reference both The Balfour Declaration: The Origins of the Arab-Israeli Conflict by Jonathan Schneer and Trial and Error: The Autobiography of Chaim Weizmann.
This free program is part of the Federation’s Connecting With Community Series and will be followed by a kosher hot lunch. Lunch is a $2 suggested donation for adults over 60 years of age or $7 for all others.
