Voyage to the Bottom of the World - Antarctica

At 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, the Jewish Federation of the Berkshires presents "Voyage to the Bottom of the World - Antarctica," a power-point slide and commentary presentation with intrepid world traveler, and Berkshire resident, Alan Morganstein.

Having visited the furthest reaches of the Southern Hemisphere this past February-into-March - which is "summer" in Antarctica - Morganstein noted that he and his wife, Toby, enjoy visiting places "less traveled," and that the program will reflect the majestic beauty of glaciers, icebergs, and active animal life - including penguins, seals, whales and birds - that the couple encountered while making eight landings on the Antarctica peninsula and adjacent islands.

Open to the public and at a cost of $3, the program will be held at Congregation Knesset Israel, 16 Colt Road, Pittsfield.
