Volunteers are a vital part of our Jewish community. The Berkshires Federation thanks those individuals who generously donate their time to help those in need. Whether baking holiday meals, visiting the elderly, or stuffing envelopes, there's always something you can do to help. Join us! Let us know how you'd like to help. Set tables at the Older Adult Kosher Hot Meal Program

Assist the staff of our Older Adult Kosher Hot Meal Program set tables on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings in preparation for the noon lunch.  For a voluntary contribution of $2 if you are 60 or older and $6, stay longer  and join with members of our community for a delicious hot lunch.

Deliver meals to homebound seniors

Deliver hot kosher lunches to homebound seniors living in Pittsfield.  Volunteers needed when regular delivery staff are not available.  Meals are delivered on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays at noon.

Make calls on Super Sunday

Join us each spring for Super Sunday when volunteers make telephone calls to members of the Berkshire Jewish Community to raise funds to ensure that our community and Jewish around the world are strong and vibrant.  Help educate the community about the Federation and its mission.

Assist with mailings to the community

Several times a year the Federation needs assistance in preparing mailings to the community.  Come fold, stuff and seal envelopes while enjoying the camaraderie of others also interested in lending a helping hand. Click here to volunteer!

Visit homebound seniors and residents of senior living facilities

Make bikkur holim  (visiting the sick) visits to seniors in facilities throughout the county in conjunction with the Federation’s social work services program. Click here to volunteer!

Bake, pack and bring gift bags to seniors during holidays

Assist in packaging and delivering challah at Rosh Hashanah and hamantaschen at Purim to Jewish residents in Berkshire County, Columbia County and Southern Vermont who are in senior facilities, homebound or in the hospital. Click here to volunteer!
